Football Recap: Vicksburg Falls Despite Big Games from Jamikal Maxey and Thomas Mcknight + How To Watch

If Vicksburg was feeling good fresh off their 48-12 takedown of Forest Hill last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gators lost 48-22 to the Ridgeland Titans on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gators of the 42-22 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Thomas McKnight and Jamikal Maxey certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. McKnight picked up 107 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Maxey threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Marquis Knight, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Vicksburg fell to 2-1. As for Ridgeland, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Vicksburg will face off against Warren Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridgeland, they will challenge Yazoo City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
