Football Recap: Skyline Prep Comes Up Short on the Road Against Heritage Academy Gateway

Skyline Prep had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 44-20 to the Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes on Friday. If the Bengals were looking for revenge after losing 36-8 to the Heroes when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Heritage Academy Gateway got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Axton Leavitt out in front who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Leavitt has posted since back in September of 2024. Another back making a difference was Stratton Ellsworth, who gained 88 total yards and two touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline Prep will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Mission Heights Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage Academy Gateway, they will welcome Heritage Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
