Football Recap: Eastern Takes a Loss

Eastern played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 44-14 loss at the hands of the Salem Lions. The Musketeers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.

Salem's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caris Moore, who rushed for 106 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Those 106 rushing yards gave Moore a new career-high. Draike Cutrell was another key player, picking up 37 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Salem, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Eastern has already played their next game, a 64-0 loss against Scottsburg on the 10th. As for Salem, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-20 victory against Charlestown on the 10th.
