Football Recap: Eastern Musketeers vs. Salem Lions
Eastern lost against Salem back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Musketeers were dealt a 44-14 defeat at the hands of the Lions. The Musketeers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.
Salem got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caris Moore out in front who rushed for 106 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Those 106 rushing yards gave Moore a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Draike Cutrell, who picked up 37 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
This is the second loss in a row for Eastern and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Salem, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Looking ahead, Eastern will host Scottsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 9.7 points per game this season, so the Musketeers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Salem, they are taking a road trip to challenge Charlestown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
