It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Steele had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed past the Laredo LBJ Wolves to the tune of 69-14. Considering the Knights have won eight matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Steele got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was DJ Green out in front who threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. Green has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another receiver making a difference was Jamin Harvell, who picked up 188 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Steele didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Pearce Kempe, Nolan Gomez, and Jared Ibarra picked up one apiece. Kempe got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Steele pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points over those games. As for Laredo LBJ, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Coming up, Steele will face off against Weslaco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Knights 15, the Panthers 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Laredo LBJ does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
