Flag Football Recap: Rosary Comes Up Short

Rosary had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 7-12 to make it six. They fell 20-7 to the St. Francis Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Royals of the 18-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for St. Francis, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.6 points on average over those games.

Maicie Schweiner had a dynamite game, picking up 92 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 44 yards and one score. She really caught the secondary sleeping when she pulled down a catch that went for 86 yards.

Rosary has already played their next contest, a 44-0 defeat against Carmel on the 30th. As for St. Francis, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-13 loss against DePaul College Prep on the 1st.
