Softball Recap: Lowellville Comes Up Short

Lowellville was the 12-11 winner over Memorial when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets fell 9-4 to the Red Devils on Thursday. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aubrey Kestner and Mckenna Lewis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kestner went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Lewis went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Poala Andino also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Lowellville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lowellville is set to challenge their familiar foe Jackson-Milton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Memorial will take on rival Western Reserve at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
