Soccer Game Preview: Palo Verde vs. Faith Lutheran

The Palo Verde Panthers will take on the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.

Palo Verde is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Coronado, who was ranked first at the time (Palo Verde was ranked fifth). The Panthers lost 7-2 to the Cougars on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for Palo Verde in their meetings with Coronado: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Faith Lutheran hasn't lost a match since September 9th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They and Foothill finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw. Faith Lutheran had to tread lightly for part of the matchup as Peyton McGinnis and Troy DosSantos were both handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Faith Lutheran's goal came courtesy of Brandon Dai, who's now up to two this season.

With that draw, Faith Lutheran's record moves to 11-4-5. As for Palo Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-3.
