It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Perry had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the New Lothrop Hornets with a sharp 14-4 victory. Considering the Ramblers have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyger Whitbeck made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Perry: the team is 9-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 11-12-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Krupp, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Patrick, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Perry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Lothrop only posted an OBP of .435.

The win (which was Perry's fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-13-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for New Lothrop, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-21 record this season.

As of now, neither Perry nor New Lothrop have any future games scheduled.
