Basketball Game Preview: Indian River Braves vs. King's Fork Bulldogs

Indian River is 0-10 against King's Fork since December of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Indian River Braves will head out to square off against the King's Fork Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.

Indian River came up short against Nansemond River on Tuesday, falling 55-31. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Warriors are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, King's Fork humbled Lakeland with a 62-29 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

King's Fork's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Indian River, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Indian River came up short against King's Fork in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 50-43. Can Indian River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
