It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fairbanks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Riverside Pirates 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nolan Baker was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

With the win, Fairbanks broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for Riverside, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.
