Baseball Recap: Oakwood Gets the Win

Oakwood won the last time they faced Iroquois West and things went their way on Friday too. The Comets walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Raiders.

Oakwood got a great performance from Cam Harris as he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Harris has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brandt Hobick was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Chase Harrison, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Oakwood's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Iroquois West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Oakwood will face off against rival Watseka at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Iroquois West is set to take on their familiar foe Cissna Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
