Basketball Recap: Mcbee Has No Trouble Against Governor's School for Science & Math + How To Watch

McBee barely beat Governor's School for Science & Math the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 62-38 margin over the Eagles on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.

McBee had a senior duo take command as Jailyn Melton shot 44% from the field on his way to 18 points and six assists and Hayden Griggs went 6-for-11 en route to 13 points along with seven boards and three blocks. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Melton. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemarion Brame, who posted seven points.

McBee was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

McBee's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, McBee is taking a road trip to take on Chesterfield at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Governor's School for Science & Math, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lee Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
