Softball Recap: Elmira Sets Scoring Season-High Against La Pine

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elmira). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the La Pine Hawks a 15-0 shutout on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on three straight.

Audrey Varozza made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Varozza was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Shiloh Jackson was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emily Weston, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Elmira always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Elmira's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for La Pine, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Elmira will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
