Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Conway Springs' Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Conway Springs posted their closest victory since September 4th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the North RedHawks 2-1. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the RedHawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2019.

Conway Springs had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-16, 25-17.

Lairen Pauly paced Conway Springs' offense, picking up 11 kills. Pauly got some help from Lanie Hartman and her 30 assists. Pauly was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Several RedHawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Saige Fisher, who had nine digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Sydney Araiza, who had 13 digs and two assists.

Conway Springs is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. As for North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-17.

Conway Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Cheney on the 14th. As for North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Southeast on the 14th.
