Football Recap: Sequoyah Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Sequoyah put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 24-14 victory over the Chandler Lions. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 49-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sequoyah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ridge Blackbear led the charge by rushing for 155 yards. Blackbear's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Jakob Rider was another key player, picking up 53 receiving yards and two scores.

Sequoyah's record now sits at 4-0. As for Chandler, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sequoyah will take on rival Dewey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Chandler is set to challenge their familiar foe Metro Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
