Volleyball Recap: Jimtown Takes a Loss

Jimtown lost against Concord back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Jimmies came up short against the Minutemen, falling 3-0. The Jimmies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-15.

Brooklyn Gillespie paced Jimtown's offense, picking up seven kills. Gillespie got some help from Kaelyn Dutton and her 14 assists. Flarity Harder and Jayla Armstrong kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Jimtown's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Concord, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8.

Jimtown and Concord could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Jimmies will challenge Mishawaka at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (245 vs. 47). Meanwhile, Concord (ranked 61st) will meet Warsaw (ranked eighth) at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
