Lake City extends home losing streak to seven

The Lake City Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 56-37 fall against Lakewood. Lake City has not had much luck with Lakewood recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Blayne Edwards and Bryson Rose certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Edwards scored six points along with 11 rebounds, while Rose scored nine points. Edwards hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Erique Wilson, who scored no points along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Lakewood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cedric Cisse, who scored 16 points. Javaire Moses was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.

Lake City dropped their record down to 6-15 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Lakewood, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake City will take on Camden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakewood, they will head out on the road to square off against Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
