Preview: Essex Trojans vs. Rappahannock Raiders
The Essex Trojans and the Rappahannock Raiders will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Essex is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Essex lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 61-40 defeat to Westmoreland might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Essex has suffered against Westmoreland since February 1, 2022.
Rappahannock won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Northumberland at home and fell 49-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rappahannock has scored all season.
Essex dropped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Rappahannock, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
Essex couldn't quite finish off Rappahannock when the teams last played on Monday and fell 50-48. Can Essex avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
