Softball Recap: North Stokes Drops Season-High Score on Mount Airy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Stokes). They blew past the Mount Airy Granite Bears 10-0 on Monday. The Vikings not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024.

North Stokes let Kaydence Woods and Rori Long run wild. Woods scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while Long went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most runs Woods has posted since back in April of 2024. Emiley Rogers also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

North Stokes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Airy only posted an OBP of .286.

With the win, North Stokes broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3-1. As for Mount Airy, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

North Stokes didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-2 victory against Alleghany on the 18th. As for Mount Airy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-3 defeat against Starmount on the 18th.
