Baseball Recap: Sheridan Makes It Four in a Row at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Sheridan ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the West Muskingum Tornadoes 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won eight in a row.

Tyler Turnes looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sheridan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shawn Griffey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Sheridan's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for West Muskingum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
