Volleyball Recap: South Range Comes Up Short

If South Range was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Poland Seminary on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders lost 3-0 to the Boardman Spartans on Monday. The Raiders have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While South Range ultimately came up short, they really made Boardman work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 26-24.

Anna Toy paced South Range's offense, picking up 13 kills. Toy got some help from Natalie Burnett and her 13 assists. Burnett also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Addison Freedy, racking up two apiece.

Boardman can attribute much of their success to Emma Terlesky, who had 11 assists and ten digs.

South Range's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Boardman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Coming up, South Range will take on Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boardman, they will square off against Howland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
