Canyon View hasn't had much luck against Millennium recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Jaguars will face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Canyon View is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Verrado: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Jaguars blew the Vipers out of the water with a 49-13 final score. 49 seems to be a good number for the Jaguars as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

A big part of Canyon View's win came down to the chemistry between Brady Scott and his top target Braylon Anderson. Scott threw for 267 yards and five TDs while Anderson picked up 104 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Anderson showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 59 yards. Canyon View also got help from Micahel Callejas, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Canyon View, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Anderson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Canyon View's defense and their four sacks. Malachi Peterson refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Brady Grizzell was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles and snagged an interception.
Meanwhile, Millennium had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They really took it to the Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-20 victory. The Tigers pushed the score to 42-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars had little chance of recovering from.
Canyon View better keep an eye on Dmari Bryant. He was instrumental in Millennium's win, rushing for 215 yards and three scores while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Bryant is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 140 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayden Reibel, who rushed for 37 yards and one TD.
Millennium was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Canyon View's record now sits at 6-2. As for Millennium, their record is now 7-1.
Canyon View couldn't quite finish off Millennium in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 21-18. Thankfully for the Jaguars, Donovan Delong (who rushed for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 122 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
