Recap: Liberty Patriots vs. Silverado Skyhawks
The Liberty Patriots had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.1 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They came out on top against Silverado by a score of 84-73. Liberty's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Liberty was led to victory by Tyus Thomas and Tyler Bright. Thomas scored 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Bright scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Bright scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Andre Porter, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Liberty pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Silverado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-7.
Liberty won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Arbor View at 6:15 p.m. on January 20th. Arbor View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Liberty likes a good challenge. As for Silverado, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coronado at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Coronado knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 matchups -- so hopefully Silverado likes a good challenge.
