Volleyball Recap: Owen Valley Patriots vs. Cascade Cadets
Owen Valley and Cascade squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Owen Valley had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cadets, falling 3-0. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Cadets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Abree Wells paced Owen Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Wells were helped by Addy Applegate and Tinsley Monroe, who contributed seven assists each. Applegate was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Cascade got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Gibbs out in front who had seven digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Suzy Moore, who had eight digs.
Owen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-23. As for Cascade, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.
