The Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos will face off against the Yuba City Honkers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Twelve Bridges is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Twelve Bridges didn't have quite enough to beat River Valley and fell 4-3.
Twelve Bridges saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Simpson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Callie Kosmides was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Yuba City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over Laguna Creek on Tuesday.
Naiema Cawthon was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alexia Alvarez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Yuba City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laguna Creek only posted a batting average of .333.
Yuba City pushed their record up to 15-5-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Twelve Bridges, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both Twelve Bridges and Yuba City just can't seem to miss. The Raging Rhinos have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Yuba City struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
