Baseball Recap: Lake Mary Prep Drops Season-High Score on Holy Cross Lutheran Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Mary Prep). Everything went their way against the Holy Cross Lutheran Academy Crusaders on Thursday as Lake Mary Prep made off with a 19-1 victory. With that win, the Griffins brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Payne Fitzmaurice was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lake Mary Prep is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise. Fitzmaurice was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Fermin, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Landon Trauger was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
