Volleyball Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

Hoover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Morse Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15.

Morse got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Frijas out in front who had five aces and four digs. That's the most aces Frijas has posted since back in March of 2024.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Morse, they pushed their record up to 13-12 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Hoover and Morse will both be playing La Jolla Country Day the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Torreys at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Cardinals will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
