Basketball Game Preview: Gilbert Tigers vs. Cesar Chavez Champions

The Gilbert Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Cesar Chavez Champions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gilbert has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Gilbert is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They secured a 68-64 W over Maryvale.

Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez beat Mountain Ridge 65-57 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Champions.

Cesar Chavez's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points over those games. As for Gilbert, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.

Gilbert couldn't quite finish off Cesar Chavez in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 52-49. Can Gilbert avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
