Basketball Recap: Wilson Central Comes Up Short

Wilson Central lost against Lebanon last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wilson Central Wildcats had to suffer through a 76-31 loss at the hands of the Lebanon Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 19th).

Wilson Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley Mirghavami, who posted eight points, and Brooklyn Evert, who put up five points. The dominant performance gave Mirghavami a new career-high in points.

Tiara Spencer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lebanon, going 8-for-11 on her way to 18 points and seven steals. Spencer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Naleiya Withrow-Walker, who had nine points along with five assists and three steals.

Wilson Central's record is now 13-16. As for Lebanon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Wilson Central nor Lebanon have any future games scheduled.
