Baseball Recap: Barry County Christian Wins Going Away Against Waldron

Barry County Christian won the last time they faced Waldron and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 8-2 victory.

Ryan Kammenzind was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Barry County Christian let Jude Birmingham and Jonathan Hawkes run wild. Birmingham went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run, while Hawkes went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Barry County Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Waldron, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Barry County Christian will face off against St. Patrick at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Shamrocks will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waldron, they will challenge Tekonsha at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
