Basketball Recap: Central Cabarrus Takes a Loss

Central Cabarrus and Pisgah squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Central Cabarrus had to settle for second. They lost 72-49 to the Pisgah Bears. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th in North Carolina, while the Bears are ranked 35th in North Carolina).

Despite the loss, Central Cabarrus still got an impressive performance from Myajah Nix, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Nix has posted since back in December of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Central Cabarrus and nudges their season record down to 11-16. As for Pisgah, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-3.

Central Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pisgah, they will challenge Ledford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ledford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.
