Softball Recap: Andrean Fighting 59ers vs. Hobart Brickies

Andrean entered their tilt with Hobart with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They had just enough and edged the Hobart Brickies out 4-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Andrean also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Abbey Bond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 12 consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Andrean let Maggie Voliva and Shay Spillman loose on the outfield. Voliva went 4-for-4 with a double, while Spillman scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Aubrey Grasha was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

On Hobart's side, Keirys Click was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisyn Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with a home run.

Andrean's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Hobart, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-7.
