After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gillespie, Greenfield/Northwestern was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

The team relied heavily on Kalynn Weller, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Cox, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Greenfield/Northwestern's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Greenfield/Northwestern will square off against Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Pleasant Hill at 4:30 p.m. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
