Basketball Recap: Elgin Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Elgin lost against Waynesfield-Goshen back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Elgin Comets fell 75-65 to the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers. The Comets just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Elgin still got an impressive performance from Maycee Muselin, who went 11 for 22 on her way to 28 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds. That was a full 43.1% of Elgin's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Jordan Wall was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Elgin's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Elgin has already played their next matchup, a 56-39 defeat against Mt. Gilead on the 1st. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-26 victory against Lima Central Catholic on the 1st.
