It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Plainfield South had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pekin Dragons a 2-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.

Plainfield South pushed their record up to 16-16 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Pekin, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-26.

As of now, neither Plainfield South nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
