Basketball Recap: Durango Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Durango hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past the Mojave Rattlers with a 46-41 victory on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Trailblazers: when they faced off against the Rattlers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 47-46 loss.

Durango's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amarie Riley led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Those 19 points gave Riley a new career-high. Gabrielle Bryant was another key player, putting up 17 points along with five assists and five boards.

Durango was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mojave lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Naija Green, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Heaven Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Durango's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-16. As for Mojave, they dropped their record down to 7-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Durango has already played their next match (against Canyon Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mojave and Foothill will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
