Preview: Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles vs. Bowman Academy Eagles
The Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Bowman Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lake Station Edison suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. Their tough 62-40 loss to Munster might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Lake Station Edison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Munster is ranked 44th).
Meanwhile, Bowman Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Marquette Catholic on the road and fell 60-23. Bowman Academy has not had much luck with Marquette Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bowman Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Marquette Catholic racked up 12 assists.
Lake Station Edison has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Bowman Academy, they bumped their record down to 8-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Lake Station Edison against Bowman Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Station Edison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
