Recap: Matanzas Pirates vs. University Titans
The Matanzas Pirates's three-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They blew past University 53-30. This was payback for Matanzas, who suffered a 42-30 loss the last time these two teams met.
Matanzas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Boone, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Smith, who scored 13 points.
Despite the defeat, University saw an underclassman step up: Aliyah Rosado Cucalon scored 11 points.
Matanzas' win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Matanzas will take on Florida School for the Deaf & Blind at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for University, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
