Baseball Recap: Faith Christian's Undefeated Season over After 19 Games

Faith Christian and Greenville Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Faith Christian had to settle for second. They fell 3-0 to the Knights. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mason Taylor was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Taylor wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Austin Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Smith is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Faith Christian fell to 18-1. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Faith Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 6-1 loss against Bethel Christian Academy on the 10th.
