Preview: Fayetteville Wolves vs. Winterboro Bulldogs
Fayetteville is 0-10 against Winterboro since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Fayetteville Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Winterboro Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on December 15th. Fayetteville has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-41, which was the final score in Fayetteville's tilt against Comer on Thursday. Fayetteville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.
Fayetteville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Jones, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds, and Atticus Jacks who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Meanwhile, Winterboro's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Childersburg at home and fell 53-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Winterboro has scored all season.
Fayetteville's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Winterboro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Fayetteville might still be hurting after the 65-44 loss they got from Winterboro in their previous meeting back in November. Can Fayetteville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
