Basketball Game Preview: Davies Career & Tech Patriots vs. Toll Gate Titans

The Davies Career & Tech Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Toll Gate Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Davies Career & Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Block Island 56-26 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

While Toll Gate didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Blackstone Valley Prep on Monday as Toll Gate made off with a 58-35 win. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Toll Gate's win came from a few key players Davies Career & Tech will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Damola Oremosu, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Goodine, who posted nine points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Toll Gate was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Davies Career & Tech's record now sits at 4-2. As for Toll Gate, their record is now 6-2.

Davies Career & Tech didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Toll Gate in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, but they still walked away with a 67-62 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Davies Career & Tech since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
