Basketball Recap: Union Takes a Loss

Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 33-29 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rosewood Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-33 back in January.

Despite the loss, Union still got an impressive performance from ZADARIYAH FAISON, who went 7 for 8 on her way to 17 points and three steals. That was a full 58.6% of Union's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was TIJAYA GOODMAN, who had three points and five rebounds.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Rosewood, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union has already played their next game (against North Duplin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rosewood won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hobbton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rosewood is facing Hobbton at the right time seeing as Hobbton is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
