Baseball Recap: Mission Viejo Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mission Viejo had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the San Juan Hills Stallions 5-4 on Monday. This was payback for the Diablos, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Wyatt Dunlap tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Mission Viejo's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Marsee, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Joey Pallone also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Mission Viejo's victory bumped their record up to 12-14. As for San Juan Hills, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-12.

Mission Viejo will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Stallions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
