South Mecklenburg typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Myers Park proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the South Mecklenburg Sabres by a score of 64-51. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Sabres back in January, they had to take a 71-63 loss.

Myers Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Hines, who went 8-for-9 to rack up 21 points. What's more, Hines also posted a 89% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ayo Awosanya, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

Myers Park was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Mecklenburg only racked up eight assists.

South Mecklenburg lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ben Houpt, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jim Gatehouse, who scored ten points.

Myers Park is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for South Mecklenburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Coming up, Myers Park will welcome Olympic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Olympic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season.
