Recap: Hamilton Southeastern Royals vs. Westfield Shamrocks
The Hamilton Southeastern Royals and the Westfield Shamrocks squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Hamilton Southeastern Royals had to settle for second. Hamilton Southeastern fell just short of Westfield by a score of 24-21. Hamilton Southeastern lost against Westfield in their previous head to head back in September, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 30-28 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Hamilton Southeastern had strong showings from Donovan Hamilton, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Jalen Alexander, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown. Hamilton's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards.
Kendall Garnett lll was on fire for Westfield: he rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns.
Hamilton Southeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Westfield, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Hamilton Southeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westfield will head out on the road to face off against Crown Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crown Point will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
