Basketball Recap: Northeast Starts Season with Win Against Osceola

Northeast took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They managed a 65-59 win over the Osceola Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Jy'Aira Washington went supernova, shooting 70% from the field on her way to 32 points and six steals. Those 70% field goal percentage gave her a new career-high. Angeliah Williams was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

Osceola's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

As for Osceola, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against St. Petersburg Catholic at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
