Football Recap: Norwell Knights vs. Mississinewa Indians
Norwell kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Mississinewa Indians. The Knights lost against the Indians in their previous head to head back in August of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 23-21 score last time.
Ian Newsom went supernova for Mississinewa, picking up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 53 yards and a touchdown. Newsom's longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards. Another player making a difference was Kellen Rock, who threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes.
Norwell will be defending their home-field for the first time for the first time when they go up against Delta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mississinewa, they will venture away from home to take on Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
