Baseball Recap: Warren County Comes Up Short

If Warren County was feeling good fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Moore County last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers fell 4-1 to the Stone Memorial Panthers on Tuesday. The Pioneers & Lady Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Evan Snapp was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Warren County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Adams, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Warren County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Stone Memorial, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.

Coming up, Warren County will be playing at home against Cumberland County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Cumberland County's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Stone Memorial, they will head out to square off against Upperman at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
