Christian Brothers won the last time they faced Gateway Legacy Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cadets put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 10-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cadets.

Dan Bergner looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Anthony Tocco was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Patrick Effer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Christian Brothers hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.

Christian Brothers now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Christian Brothers will face off against Chaminade at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Cardinal Ritter College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
