Basketball Recap: Ray Ochoa's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clifton over Scurry-Rosser

Clifton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 67-49 to the Scurry-Rosser Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Wildcats are ranked 159th).

Clifton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ray Ochoa, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Maddox Hinojosa, who had 15 points.

Clifton's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Scurry-Rosser, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Clifton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-45 win against Millsap on the 27th. Scurry-Rosser has also already played their next contest, an 82-31 victory against Rio Vista on the 27th.
